Terms of Service
Last updated: April 22, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, or using APIHub.io ("APIHub," "the Platform," "the Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must stop using the Service immediately.
2. Definitions
- "Provider" - A person or entity that lists one or more APIs on the Platform for consumption by others.
- "Consumer" - A person, organization, or AI agent that discovers, pays for, and calls APIs listed on the Platform.
- "Agent" - An autonomous or semi-autonomous AI software program that interacts with the Platform programmatically.
- "Credits" - Prepaid balances stored at the profile level in APIHub's database, backed by on-chain USDC deposits. Credits are used to pay for API calls without incurring per-transaction gas fees.
- "USDC" - The USD Coin stablecoin, a digital dollar pegged 1:1 to the US dollar, used for all payments on the Platform.
- "Base" - The Base blockchain network (an Ethereum Layer 2), on which all on-chain transactions on the Platform are settled.
- "x402 Protocol" - The open payment protocol used by APIHub to facilitate per-request API payments via HTTP 402 responses.
- "Federated API" - An API discovered from public on-chain records or third-party indexes that is displayed on the Platform but not operated by APIHub.
- "Wallet" - A self-custodial cryptocurrency wallet (such as MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rabby, Phantom, Trust, or Frame) connected to the Platform by the user.
3. Eligibility
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- Not be a resident of, or located in, any jurisdiction where use of cryptocurrency or the Service is prohibited by applicable law.
- Not be listed on any government sanctions list or otherwise prohibited from engaging in financial transactions.
Agents (AI programs) may use the Service on behalf of an individual or organization that meets these eligibility requirements. The individual or organization operating the Agent remains fully responsible for the Agent's activity on the Platform.
4. Account Registration
4.1 Human Accounts
Human users register by providing a valid email address. Authentication is performed via magic link emails sent to your address. You are responsible for maintaining access to the email account associated with your APIHub profile.
4.2 Agent (Wallet-Based) Accounts
AI agents may register autonomously by connecting a blockchain wallet. No email address is required for wallet-based registration. The wallet address serves as the unique identifier for the account.
4.3 API Keys
Upon registration, you may generate API keys to authenticate programmatic requests. API keys are displayed exactly once at the time of creation and cannot be recovered afterward. APIHub stores only a SHA-256 hash of each key. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your API keys.
4.4 Account Security
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account, API keys, or connected wallet. APIHub is not liable for losses resulting from compromised credentials that you failed to secure.
5. Wallet Connection and Blockchain
5.1 Supported Wallets
The Platform supports wallet connections via MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rabby, Phantom, Trust, and Frame, integrated through OnchainKit and wagmi. By connecting a wallet, you authorize APIHub to read your public wallet address and request transaction signatures for deposits and payments.
5.2 Non-Custodial
APIHub is non-custodial. We never have access to your private keys, seed phrases, or wallet credentials. All on-chain transactions require your explicit approval through your wallet application.
5.3 Blockchain Risks
You acknowledge that blockchain transactions are irreversible once confirmed. APIHub cannot reverse, cancel, or modify any on-chain transaction. You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring you are connected to the correct network (Base).
- Verifying transaction details before signing.
- Understanding the risks of interacting with smart contracts.
- Paying any network (gas) fees associated with on-chain transactions.
5.4 Third-Party Wallet Providers
Wallet connections are provided by third-party wallet software. APIHub is not responsible for the security, availability, or functionality of any wallet provider. Your use of a wallet is governed by that provider's own terms of service and privacy policy.
6. Credits and Payments
6.1 Prepaid Credits
APIHub operates a prepaid credits system. You deposit USDC from your connected wallet into your APIHub profile. Credits are stored as database records at the profile level, backed by your on-chain USDC deposit. Once credited, API calls are made without per-transaction gas fees.
6.2 Credit Balances
Credits are denominated in microdollars (1 USD = 1,000,000 microdollars) for precision. Credit balances are non-transferable between accounts. Credits do not earn interest and have no expiration date unless your account is terminated.
6.3 Direct x402 Payments
Consumers with compatible wallets may also pay for API calls directly via the x402 protocol, settling each request as an on-chain USDC transaction on Base. Standard network gas fees apply to direct x402 payments.
6.4 Commission
APIHub charges a commission on each API transaction. The default commission rate is 10%. Commission rates may be adjusted on a per-provider or per-service basis by agreement. The commission is deducted before the provider payout is calculated.
6.5 Refunds
Because blockchain transactions are irreversible, refunds of on-chain deposits are handled on a case-by-case basis at APIHub's sole discretion. If a refund is approved, it will be issued as a credit to your APIHub profile or as a USDC transfer to your connected wallet, depending on the circumstances.
7. API Marketplace Terms
7.1 For Providers
By listing an API on the Platform, you agree that:
- You own or have the right to distribute the API you are listing.
- Your API descriptions, documentation, and pricing are accurate and not misleading.
- Your API complies with all applicable laws and regulations in every jurisdiction where it is offered.
- You will maintain reasonable uptime and service quality. APIHub monitors API health every 15 minutes and may flag or suspend listings that consistently fail health checks.
- You will not use the Platform to distribute malware, collect user data without consent, or engage in deceptive practices.
7.2 Provider Payouts
Providers receive 90% (or the applicable rate after commission) of each transaction in USDC. Payouts are settled daily in batch transfers to the wallet address configured in your provider profile. It is your responsibility to provide a valid Base-compatible wallet address. APIHub is not responsible for payouts sent to an incorrect address that you configured.
7.3 Self-Service Calls
When a Provider calls their own listed Services through the APIHub proxy using one of their own API keys, the call bypasses payment. This is intended for development, testing, and quality monitoring of your own Services. Abuse of this allowance (including sharing keys with third parties to circumvent payment for unrelated calls) is a violation of these Terms and grounds for account suspension.
7.4 For Consumers
By using APIs listed on the Platform, you agree that:
- You will use APIs in accordance with their published documentation, terms, and rate limits.
- You are responsible for the actions of any Agent acting on your behalf.
- API responses are provided by third-party Providers, not by APIHub. APIHub does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of any API response.
- You will not attempt to reverse-engineer, bypass, or circumvent the payment system.
7.5 Rate Limits
API usage is subject to rate limits. The free tier allows up to 100 requests per minute. Paid tiers allow up to 1,000 requests per minute. Exceeding rate limits will result in HTTP 429 responses. Persistent or intentional rate limit abuse may result in account suspension.
7.6 Marketplace Role
APIHub acts as a marketplace and payment intermediary. We are not a party to the agreement between a Provider and a Consumer. We do not guarantee the availability, quality, or legality of any API listed on the Platform.
8. Federated APIs
The Platform may display APIs discovered from public on-chain records and third-party indexes ("Federated APIs"). Federated APIs are not hosted, operated, or controlled by APIHub. When you interact with a Federated API:
- Payment is routed directly to the external provider via the x402 protocol; APIHub does not process payment for Federated APIs.
- Service quality, uptime, and data handling are the sole responsibility of the external provider.
- You are subject to the external provider's terms of service and privacy policy in addition to these Terms.
- APIHub makes no representations or warranties regarding Federated APIs.
Federated APIs are clearly labeled in the Platform interface. APIHub reserves the right to remove any Federated API listing at any time.
9. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
- Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
- Engage in fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, or sanctions evasion.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, API keys, or wallet credentials.
- Manipulate or abuse the credits system, including creating multiple accounts to exploit promotional offers.
- Intentionally abuse rate limits or launch denial-of-service attacks against the Platform or listed APIs.
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Platform beyond what is provided through the public API.
- List APIs that facilitate illegal activity, distribute copyrighted content without authorization, or violate the rights of others.
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the payment system, commission structure, or any security measures.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Platform IP
The APIHub name, logo, website design, software, and all related materials are the intellectual property of APIHub. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on any part of the Platform without prior written permission.
10.2 Provider Content
Providers retain all intellectual property rights in their APIs, documentation, and related content. By listing an API on the Platform, Providers grant APIHub a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display API descriptions, documentation, and metadata for the purpose of operating the marketplace.
10.3 Consumer Content
API request data and payloads submitted by Consumers pass through the Platform's proxy but remain the property of the Consumer. APIHub does not claim ownership of Consumer request or response data. We may log metadata (timestamps, status codes, latency) for operational and quality purposes.
11. Dispute Resolution
11.1 Provider-Consumer Disputes
Disputes between Providers and Consumers regarding API quality, availability, or accuracy should first be raised through the Platform's contact page. APIHub will make reasonable efforts to facilitate resolution but is not obligated to mediate or arbitrate disputes between third parties.
11.2 Payment Disputes
If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us through the contact page within 30 days of the transaction. We will review the transaction logs and audit trail. Because blockchain transactions are irreversible, resolution may be limited to credit adjustments on the Platform.
11.3 Binding Arbitration
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms that cannot be resolved informally will be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- APIHub is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of funds, loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
- APIHub's total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount of credits in your account or $100 USD, whichever is greater.
- APIHub is not responsible for the availability, performance, accuracy, or security of any third-party API listed on the Platform.
- APIHub is not responsible for losses caused by blockchain network congestion, smart contract failures, wallet provider outages, or fluctuations in the value of USDC.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless APIHub, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
- APIs you list on the Platform (if you are a Provider).
- Actions taken by Agents operating on your behalf.
- Your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.
- Disputes with other users arising from transactions on the Platform.
14. Third-Party Services
The Platform integrates with and relies on the following third-party services. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms:
- Base Network - Blockchain settlement for USDC transactions.
- Coinbase OnchainKit - Wallet connection and identity services.
- Wallet Providers - MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rabby, Phantom, Trust, Frame.
- On-chain records & third-party indexes - Source of Federated API listings.
- Cloudflare - Infrastructure hosting (Workers, D1, KV, R2).
- Resend - Email delivery for magic link authentication and notifications.
APIHub is not responsible for outages, changes, or discontinuations of any third-party service. If a third-party service becomes unavailable, certain features of the Platform may be temporarily degraded or unavailable.
15. Account Suspension and Termination
15.1 By APIHub
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for reasons including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
- Suspected fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
- Failure to maintain API health standards (for Providers).
- Non-payment or insufficient credit balance (for Consumers).
- Requests from law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
15.2 By You
You may close your account at any time by contacting us through the contact page. Upon account closure:
- Remaining credits may be withdrawn to your connected wallet, subject to any minimum withdrawal thresholds and applicable fees.
- Your API keys will be immediately revoked.
- Provider API listings will be deactivated.
- Transaction history and audit records will be retained as required by law and for dispute resolution purposes.
15.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Dispute Resolution, and Governing Law) will continue to apply.
16. Regulatory Notices
16.1 Not Financial Advice
Nothing on the Platform constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. You are solely responsible for evaluating the risks of using cryptocurrency and blockchain-based services, including potential tax obligations in your jurisdiction.
16.2 Regulatory Compliance
You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction related to cryptocurrency, digital assets, and the use of API services. APIHub makes no representation that the Service is appropriate or available for use in all jurisdictions.
16.3 No Money Transmission
APIHub facilitates peer-to-peer transactions using open blockchain protocols. The credits system operates as a prepaid balance for API consumption. APIHub does not act as a bank, money transmitter, or financial institution.
17. Modifications to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- Notify registered users via email (for accounts with an email address on file).
- Post a notice on the Platform for at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service and close your account.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any legal action or proceeding not subject to arbitration under Section 11.3 shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Delaware.
19. Severability and General Provisions
19.1 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
19.2 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and APIHub regarding your use of the Service.
19.3 Waiver
The failure of APIHub to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
19.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under them without APIHub's prior written consent. APIHub may assign these Terms without restriction.
19.5 Force Majeure
APIHub is not liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, blockchain network outages, government actions, or internet service disruptions.
19.6 Contact
